Ms Wigley "Kicks" Trailer

The trailer starts off with an extreme long shot with a low angle view following on to a close up of the footballer, then turns into a medium shot. The camera focuses on the footballer. The text fades in to the background and another close up. The close up is of the girl then an extreme close up is shown of the footballer. A medium shot of the girl, the text fades, an extreme close up of the girl, turns into fading text. There is then a long shot of both the girls, and then one of the girls called jasmine this then showed a low angle. The next shot type was a high angle of both girls lying down, which then showed an extreme long shot of the girls standing on a hill looking at the sunrise. A close up of the girls and the footballer in a car. Extreme close up of the man’s eye. Which then led on to a close up of everyone’s face then an extreme long shot of the girl with the gun and the text increases at the end of the scene?

The camera angles are mostly straight on. The camera movement in the first shot is panning the screen. Second shot tracks the girl touching the car. It then starts panning down towards the girl, then pans down the girl dancing. Most of the scenes seem to fade into each other.

Miss-en-scene is shown when the lighting seems to be quite dark, dull throughout the trailer. The body language is quite seductive in most parts of the trailer towards the footballer and the girls. The only part of costume change we see is when the girl is wearing her school uniform at the beginning of the trailer and when the boy is wearing his football kit. The colours used are quite dull colours because this gives a sense of seriousness. The colours used are like blacks, greys. The girl seems to be wearing grey, grey connotates a sense of strong emotion which can also gives the sense of them being moody.

The sound is non-diegetic as the girl voice is the voice over and there is music being played constantly. It becomes dietetic near the end when the girl is talking, the music stops and you hear a gunshot also in the middle of the trailer there is a smashing of glass.

The narrative is non linear. There is equilibrium because the girl seems to be fine, she gets along with people and everything seems to be quite peaceful.
This then goes into disequilibrium when she meets the girl jasmine; she then takes control over the footballer they both like. She then ends up shooting the guy at the end.

The genre of the film is a drama because this narrative is quite serious matter, the serious matter being that both girls like the same footballer.
